PRESS RELEASE

A CALL FOR A PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION IN LONDON

EHDR-UK is organising a demonstration in London, outside Eritrean Embassy, to protest against the gross human rights violations that are currently taking place in Eritrea.  We shall protest specifically against:

·           The killing of 161 innocent young Eritreans at Wi'a camp.

·           The unlawful detention of parents whose adult children have left the country,

·           The government's interference in religious institutions.

EHDR-UK calls on all peace loving Eritreans and non-Eritreans who believe in justice and the rule of law to join us in this protest.

We all have a moral obligation and a duty to protest against any injustice against our people as those inside the country are unable to express their views.  Join us in our call for justice, the rule of law and the respect of the very basic human rights.

The demonstration will be held outside Eritrean Embassy.

Address     96 White Lion Street, Islington, London N1 9PF

Date               Friday 19 August 2005.

Thanks
